“8 Steps”! Wow! Seems like a lot. Well, I could have said it was 3 steps or 5 steps but, in the end, it’s all the same. Success requires a process. Something that you can follow over and over, systematically, and become better and better, more proficient, until it becomes internalized and second nature.
These 8 Steps to Success are so fundamental that once you start using them it’s almost a guarantee that you will get the results that you wish to achieve. If you spend time and focus on the process, you will have great results in Network Marketing.
The 8 Steps Revealed
This is an abridged version of the 8 Steps to Success as I recently wrote in my latest book, You Online, You Offline: How to make a Fortune in Network Marketing. For further details, please see the book.

– Your first skill is to learn how to approach people you already know – your warm market. Next, you have to learn how to meet people when you are out and about. This is prospecting.
Start with, quite literally, “Hello.” “Hi.” “Nice day.” “How are things?” Make some small talk, get to know each other a little. Become familiar.
– It is important in this step to build rapport and find a want, need, or desire before moving ahead. This will be easy with folks in your warm market because you likely go way back together. Don’t sell. Connect. Find out what your prospective business partner’s pain points and pleasure points are. While connecting and listening, think about how the Isagenix products can solve your prospective business partner’s pain points and grease their pleasure points. Do not “verbal vomit” on them.
– Awesome! If you’re at this point, you’ve connected and found a way that you feel you can help your prospective business partner. The next step is to make an appointment to follow up the conversation. “But why not close right there?” Because you need to teach people how to treat you. You are a professional Network Marketer. You don’t “swing by” your doctor’s office for a visit. You don’t follow up with your lawyer in a “couple of days”. Be a professional and book an appointment. If your prospective business partner blows you off, they were likely saving you time-consuming trouble down the road anyway. Perhaps it could go like this:
“Mary, I have a short video I’d like to show you, it will only take about 15 minutes, when will you be in front of your computer?”
If Mary gives you a time, you have the appointment. If she asks, “What this about?” continue with something like this:
“Mary, I’ve recently connected with an international company based in Phoenix who is doing some incredible things in the health and wellness industry! In fact, they have already accumulated over $1.3 billion in sales! Mary, there is some serious money being made. The video I mentioned will explain everything and will only take about 15 minutes. So Mary, when will you be in front of your computer?”
Try to find a mutually agreed upon time. But don’t be a mush. Don’t be affraid to tell your prospective business partner when you’re available. ” I can speak to you on Tuesday or Thursday. Which is better for you? I have 1pm and 3pm open.” After you have an appointment, confirm with an email. Include an action step to watch a video first.
But which video?
“To show the breadth of Isagenix products and the business opportunity, consider showing The Isagenix Vision. To focus on just Isagenix products, consider using Are You Toxic? Other situation-specific videos are listed below.
– Presentation can be done in a number of ways – groups, one-on-one, video/audio, 3-way, and the list goes on. In any case, the presentation needs to be as short as possible without reducing the value of the opportunity. The best scenario would be where your prospective business partner already watched the video you provided in your appointment confirmation email.
In your post-presentation discussion, specifically address previously mentioned pain and pleasure points. Then stop and listen. Listen and understand. Understand their questions and provide concise answers. Then ask the question, “What interested you most – better health, better wealth, or both?”
– Objections are typically symptoms of unanswered questions. People say “no” when they’re not comfortable if they don’t know all the answers. Answer their questions as best you can and use the tools – the audios, videos, and 3-way resources – wherever possible. make your prospective business partner comfortable. Finally, tell them about your unconditional money-back guarantee and ask, Have I given you enough information to at least give it a shot?”
– You must follow up. If your prospective business partner hasn’t signed up on the spot, you need to follow up. Call them until you have a definite yes or no. Fence-sitters will waste your time forever so you want to get them off and into decision-land! Statistics show that most prospective business owners don’t commit – to one side of the fence or the other – until the fourth or fifth follow up call. Don’t quit calling at call number two!
– They said “Yes”! They want to enroll. The best way to do so is to direct them to your Isagenix web site and point them to the “Sign Up and Save” button. Stay on the phone with them but be relatively quiet. Let them experience the process and they will be able to take others through it exactly the same way. It’s all laid out for your new business partner on the web site. Let the tool do its job.
– Most people think the sales process ends when their prospective partner says “Yes”. This is entirely short-sighted and will limit your growth in Network Marketing. You need to change hats now. Take responsibility for your new business partner. Teach them to “fish” (referencing the “give a fish/teach to fish” proverb). Challenge and encourage them. Don’t alienate them.
