Just back from Maine. I had lobster 3 times. I almost had lobster ice cream. What a great 11 day trip with my family. Maine – ahhh vacation land. We love it and we are going back for more. A land of moose, blueberries, maple syrup, and lobstahs. They love their lobsters. But I was really – REALLY – impressed with the lighthouses. Big, bold, and beautiful, right up against the ocean. I climbed to the top with Tyler and he said “Daddy you can see the whole world from here”. That’s right, son. And as we visited our 3rd light house it occurred to me the power and elegance that she had.
Marshall Point Lighthouse
My favorite one was Marshall Point Lighthouse in Port Clyde Maine – as seen in Forest Gump! The lighthouse does not run up and down the beach screaming how great she is and how the boats need her light and her energy. NO. She stands there in her power, elegant and graceful, and merely shines her bright light and her radiant energy into the darkness. Alas, the boats that need her, and want her guidance, will follow her bright light to safety.
And in business, do you run up and down your streets and scream at your prospects how much they need you? Or do you stand there in your power, offer your light and your gifts to the world, and wait for the ones that are attracted to you, your energy, and your bright light?
Thank you, Maine, for the lobstah, the special time with my family, and for your beautiful light houses. We will be back.
