I remember <a href="http://blog.drewberman.com/tag/classmates/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with classmates">classmates</a> pulling all-nighters studying for a test only to get so completely exhausted they ultimately bombed the test. I also knew a guy who trained so hard for a race he wound up getting injured before he even got to the <a href="http://blog.drewberman.com/tag/starting-line/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with starting line">starting line</a>!</p>
<p>Sometimes we learn from our mistakes, sometimes we don&#8217;t. Here&#8217;s a video where I hope to inspire you to put forth that perfect amount of effort in your business to become successful. Check it out!</p>
<p><object width="580" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5l84q8l-4UQ&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;rel=0&#038;color1=0x234900&#038;color2=0x4e9e00&#038;border=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5l84q8l-4UQ&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;rel=0&#038;color1=0x234900&#038;color2=0x4e9e00&#038;border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="580" height="360"></embed></object></p>
<p>To paraphrase Einstein, <span id="more-1162"></span>&#8220;things should be as simple as possible, but no simpler.&#8221; I think that applies here in that when you make things too difficult, they&#8217;re destined for failure or, at least, the <a href="http://blog.drewberman.com/tag/risk-of-failure/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with risk of failure">risk of failure</a> goes way up! I&#8217;m not here to argue <a href="http://blog.drewberman.com/tag/risk-theory/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with risk theory">risk theory</a> but suffice it to say that simplicity will serve you well in your business and in becoming successful.</p>
<p>Now, truth be told, &#8220;simplicity&#8221; and &#8220;trying too hard&#8221; is subjective and based on one&#8217;s own perspective. What is simple to you may be entirely over the top to someone else. That&#8217;s OK. There is no need to impose your perspective on another nor compare another perspective to your own. Be your own best judge and leave it at that. Anything else simply decreases your chances of success.</p>
<p>To be fair, not everything is easy and complexity will find its way into matters from time to time. <a href="http://blog.drewberman.com/work-with-drew-berman/">Get help</a>. Break it down. Simplify. Find the best solution. Proceed.</p>
<p>So, before you crank up some convoluted plan for <a href="http://blog.drewberman.com/tag/google/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with google">Google</a> domination or pull together a team of highly-trained, keyboard-punching <a href="http://blog.drewberman.com/tag/hamsters/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with hamsters">hamsters</a> to post classified advertisements, take a step back, look at the big picture, find your simplicity, and <strong>stop trying so hard</strong>. After all, if your <a href="http://blog.drewberman.com/tag/concoction/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with concoction">concoction</a> is so complex and you never actually get to the starting line, how are you going to win the race?</p>
<p>Best to you!<br />
- Drew</p>
