It has been a while since I have brought to you a video blog so I looked into my archive and found this wonderful message, as part of my millionaire mindset series, from one of my favorite self made millionaires, Jimmy “The Butcher” Smith. Actually, this video was shot not so long ago at an event in Arizona! (If you want a look at a video of me enjoying the view over the red rocks of Sedona, Arizona, let me know!) Anyway, here, in the back of a 2009 Rolls Royce Phantom, I took a moment to briefly interview Jimmy. Check out a self made millionaires message about how to make it big in network marketing. Here’s a hint, the power comes from within. I’d like to specifically notice Jimmy’s unwavering conviction. Check it out.

Self made millionaires create through passion, action, and inertia, as Jimmy states. Passion is feeling from one’s sole about something; action is doing something about it; but what does he mean by inertia? Inertia is one of the most powerful components of the elite self made millionaires. Inertia is, simply put, to keep on keeping on. Let nothing get in the way of you reaching your goals. Bad day? Brush it off and keep going. Fall down? Get up and keep going. Inertia becomes easier and easier over time as a business grows and things seem to take on a life of it’s own organically. It doesn’t start out that way. That’s why it’s imperative that you create that inertia from the onset and don’t let misfortunes sidetrack you, make you take your eye off the ball. Persevere. If you can conceive, you can believe, you can achieve.

Every season I try to buy a Life is Good t-shirt.  I love ‘em.  And, I live it by osmosis.  What you focus on expands.  I am focused on not only having a good life, not only having a great life, actually, but helping others have a great life too.  Most people don’t realize that if they are holding on so dearly to a good life that they forget the GREAT life is within reach.

You see, network marketing can give someone a good life and can help people have a great life.  As you know, I moved my family from Manhattan to Ridgefield, Connecticut; with a 4 1/2 year old and a 9-month-pregnant wife.  How would I have done it with a regular 9-to-5 office job (or more commonly, an 8-to-6)?  In moving and unpacking hundreds of boxes, I’ve also been able to have some fun too.  I’m all about lifestyle.  Yes, our products are amazing and, yes, the money is great.  But what about the lifestyle???

We have been in Connecticut for 17 days now and have seen 3 free outdoor concerts, including the red-hot New Orleans Jam Band, The Radiators.  Wow!  Tyler and I boogied down to one of the most amazing jam bands ever on the beach at sunset.

A few days earlier, I had an appointment with one of the coaches that I get to work and train with. She’s an amazing women that is helping her family out of the rat race by building a home based business.   Because she is coachable and willing to let go of the good life, she knows the great life is right around the corner.  But in addition to doing some training, I have to have some fun too.

This is not vacation!

Here’s a shot of me on a quad riding through the forrest. Now remember this is not vacation -this is my life.  This was a Tuesday while most are at work. You see, when your vocation becomes your vacation, you don’t have to work a day in your life.

Oh, I work.  And I play.  Actually, I plerk!!  What is the difference between a hippie and a yuppie? Give up! A YIPPEE!!!  That’s what I am. A Yippee.

With all this fun and moving and getting ready to have a baby, I am still getting stuff done.  I already have more then 20 new, fresh, HOT, leads. I’ve already sponsored 4 people since I’ve been here. I’ve already created a Mastermind Group based on the principles of Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.  And yesterday, I took some rockin’ players on my team out for a fun/social at Christies Auction House. We got a private tout and had Tea for 10 in the Board Room.

Love is all you need. I love my wife and I love my life. Love of my wife and son and future son is what keeps me going. I love my memories of NY and I love that I am moving my family to Connecticut. I love that I am going to California this weekend. We are going to have a HUGE Celebration. I love that I found network marketing. It really is better then you think. The money is better. The lifestyle is better. I love my group. Literally. Do you love your group? Or are they just a means to an end for you. Do you constantly focus on money? When you are out prospecting do you think — I am gonna “get him”? When someone enrolls on your team do you think “this guy will help me really hit my goals”. Or do you actually fall in love with your team? How do you treat your prospects, your team, your neighbors? All you need is love — all they need is love. Do they feel warm and appreciated and up lifted when they are around you? Do you love yourself? Do you love your team? Do you? Once you sprinkle the magic love on your team, the love that can only come from you, is the love that will help keep your team loyal. Do they know you care? When they will work and keep on keepin’ on as to not disappoint you, you have become the leader that leaders are looking for. It’s all about love. Who do you love? Make sure you tell them.

Love Is All You Need

My wife and I are reading a book called “His Needs/Her Needs” by Willard F. Harley, Jr. He explains a marriage can only thrive if both partners are getting their needs met. Sounds simple. He also says that each partner needs to know the others needs. I am impressed with the book and had to stop to quote this paragraph.

The great American scramble for more goodies as you move up the ladder of success becomes perhaps the deadliest enemy any family faces. What should be primary in a marriage: your relationship as man and woman, or your standard of living? We all know the “right” answer, but many couples still get it all backwards. They put their standard of living ahead of their relationship with the mistaken idea, “We will be happy if we can just get ahead.” In many cases exactly the reverse happens. They reach a “higher standard of living” but at a terrible price.

So what would your spouse like more of, money to spend or time with you? What are your thoughts?

A Proud Start at the Connecticut Challenge

This was certainly an adventure of a lifetime. I raised $1000 for Cancer. I trained for 3 1/2 weeks. I made it 36 miles and then CRASH.

Carefully heading downhill, going fast, breaking gently, slick roads, into a turn – back wheel slid out and I flew over the handle bars. Head – shoulder – knee. Helmet saved my life – it has a huge dent. Sore back – badly bruised knee. Ended the day with 51 miles. My lesson? Life is not a spectator sport. In biking and in business and in life – sometimes you fall. Today I fell pretty hard.

It could have been devastating. Life could have changed in a split second. I got back up. Have some really cool battle wounds. Met 3 prospects. All in all – it was a great birthday.

First there was “Bachelor Party”.  Then “Very Bad Things”.  And now “The Hangover”.  My wife and I went to see “The Hangover” and I am going to give it a thumbs up.  Laugh out loud, pee in your pants, tears in your eyes funny.  And dumb.  Some great cameos.  Some painful scenes that just wouldn’t end.  But overall — a great laugh, a great time, and a great date with my lovely bride.  If you are in the mood to turn off your brain for awhile, and laugh at someone’s mishaps from a bachelor party in Vegas — then go.  I do not think it will win an Oscar, but I do think it will be a popular rental.

For the next 3 1/2 weeks I am going to train for New England’s Toughest Century Ride – 100 miles – to raise money for Cancer Survivors.  I have not been on a bicycle since 2002.  I will train very hard.  Focus on my diet.   Be strict with my work-outs.  Luckily, I will flood my body with Isagenix – the world leader in nutritional cleansing.  I will do a 9-day cleanse.  Eliminate coffee and alcohol.  And get into the best shape of my life.  And I will raise over $2000 for the 1 in 3 Americans who will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.  I will ride to help hospitals create their own survivorship program.  I will do this ride on July 25th – my birthday!  Please follow along as I blog about this experience over the next 3 1/2 weeks.  And please – help me exceed my goal.  Please sponsor me here.
