Our industry is attracting professionals from all areas.  And why not?  It is an industry that requires no or low overhead, no or low inventory, no boss, no territories, no student loans – you know, you know.  Here is an amazing woman  – mom, wife, friend, real estate professional and flies the friendly skies.  And guess what – she is also a network marketer.  Read between the lines on this one everybody.  The woman will be financially free in 2010.  This is very powerful and inspiring.  Thanks, Joanne, for all you do.  You are certainly an asset to our team.

Since the day I was born I was meant to travel.  My dad was the original, stereotypical tourist – camera dangling around his neck, map in one hand, my brother and I holding on to the other hand, while my mother was by our side turning heads with her jet black hair and her 1960-style glamor. I loved it, and I couldn’t wait to the following weekend where we would visit places like Howe Caverns, Washington DC or Williamsburg, Virginia. But there was always those two weeks a year when we would go for the big vacation. We would all climb into the Gold 1966 Chevrolet for our road trip to Florida! My brother and I fighting in the back seat amongst the pillows, blankets, and packed lunches. Our parents threatening to pull over and give us a good smack. And then there was always the games, like counting all the red cars or playing “Slug Bug”. We always knew we were half way there when we hit the big tourist attraction “South of the Border” a complete emporium of tourist knickknacks filled with ashtrays, shot glasses, and all kinds of doodads.

It is by no accident I became a Flight attendant for a major airline. Travel was in my blood, but now I wanted to see and feel more exotic destinations – Russia, Finland, Japan to name a few. How glamorous I would be! Traipsing though the airport with my crisp uniform, handsome pilots standing next to me.Just like a scene right out of the movie “Catch me if you can”.

But reality sunk in fast. The glamor? I would think about it every time someone would hand me a snotty tissue or a dirty diaper while I’m serving them dinner. Or when I would be down on the floor jamming dirty meal trays into a cart, spilling other peoples’ dinner on my uniform. The delays, the jet lag, and let’s not forget the smoking flights. All this havoc would miraculously leave my thoughts when I hit my layover destination and have dinner beneath the Eiffel Tower or throw a coin into the Trevi Fountain.

But the last wish I had as I was throwing a coin into one of the many fountains of the world was for residual income. I was done; I didn’t want to sacrifice anymore. I wanted to enjoy all this without having to leave my family behind for 3 to 4 days at a time. I didn’t want to wait on the people in the first class seats. I wanted to be in the first class seats sipping on the finest wine with my husband right next to me. I didn’t want to trade my time for money anymore. I wanted to give my time to my family and charitable causes. It was starting to take its toll.

Well as we all know from the story above, what you think about you bring about. So it is by no accident I met entrepreneur and Success Guru Drew Berman. Drew introduced me to the world of residual income. Residual income through network marketing is the new paradigm of the 21^st century. The only industry that creates the most millionaires. It is because of my relationship with this leader of leaders who has the experience to turn dreams into reality, that my dream is finally coming true. 2010 I will have the financial freedom to travel the beaches of the world with my family and will finally be in that first class seat next to my husband. 10 months after my network marketing reintroduction, I replaced my full-time income, and in another 10 months turned my monthly income into my weekly income.  I quickly became a top earner in my company, a coach for the industry, and now have the honor and privilege of teaching people how to have more leads then they can call, more time then they know what to do with, and more money then they can spend.  Regardless of company.  I am what you would call an “overnight success”.  Except it took 20 years of sales and marketing training, and 7 years of network marketing training.  Thousands of dollars of education and thousands of hours of study has gotten me to where I am now.  The dream kept me alive.  I knew there was a better way.  I knew there was an easier way.  And now I am living the dream.  Literally. I have a beautiful wife and a beautiful life.  We have a 4 year old boy and another one on the way.  We are buying (our first) dream home.

This was a lesson I learned early in my networking career. I was introduced to this industry in 2001. I was enamored. A man I met at a BNI meeting asked me if I was open to an additional stream of income or was I locked into what I was currently doing. He told me that he and a couple colleagues were putting together a team to work with for some projects on and off the internet. They were looking for some sharp people. He handed me a CD called “Hi Tech / High Touch”. He had me at hello. Well within 5 years I went to every meeting, every function, spent thousands of dollars on tapes and books, missed two of my best friends’ weddings, was excited and broke excited and broke excited and broke, spent more then I made, took the advice literally of finding 2 prospects a day and chased down a man in a snow blizzard asking him if he was open to an opportunity, my wife almost left 3 times, my best friend wanted to have an intervention and have had the police called on me when I showed up for a follow up. I’m no quitter but after 5 years of spending money and not making money I retired from network marketing, broke but not discouraged. I went back to business 101 for a year. And then I was reintroduced – this time by a cutting edge, future thinking, health and wellness company.

Yes, network marketing is a business.  And, yes, network marketing is a great business.  But network marketing offers a great lifestyle.  I am a daddy and a husband first.  I am training for a bike ride as a fund raiser for cancer survivors.  We are buying a house, moving to Connecticut, having a baby, and still having an amazing summer.  Network marketing is about lifestyle.  So far we have been to Cape Cod, Marblehead, Mass, Maine, Vermont, and today we are off to Mohonk Mountain.  I meet people when I am out and about.  I don’t go out to prospect.  I prospect when I am out.  I met 3 potential customers/business partners/friends yesterday at a christening.  Two the day before at a concert.  Two the same day on a bike ride.  What a business!  Network marketing is attracting people from all professions.  Real estate professional, athletes, financial planners and doctors are looking toward network marketing as their next career.  Are you ready to have CEO income without having a J-O-B?  We can help.  Are you already involved in network marketing and need some guidance?  We can help.  We teach people how to combine the three greatest trends of the new millennium – health and wellness, distribution through networks, and the internet. My wife and I went to a wedding on Long Island the other night.  First class all the way – black tie – quite elegant.  We were there 15 minutes, enjoying the cocktail hour and some yummy hor douvres.  The sun was setting.  We joined a threesome out by the fountain.  The man to my right commented on my wife’s 4 month pregnant belly.  He was an obstetrician.  When he asked what I did, I simply replied that I work in nutrition and specialize in weight loss.  In fact, I work with a lot of doctors around the country.  He asked if it was network marketing and I said, “of course”.  He too was a networker.  No surprise there.  He was sharp, well dressed, well spoken, and yes – he was a DOCTOR.  The epitome of success, according to society.  And yet, he was a networker.  The best of society is being attracted to this industry which has changed and matured over the years.  He wants time freedom, something he can not accomplish as a doctor.  Medical insurance is through the roof, the hours are tough, and the lifestyle not quite what he was promised in med school.  And he only gets paid when he is at the office.  But what about when he is at the golf course?  As the evening went on, I found that golf was a true passion, and network marketing gave him a passive residual income stream, even when playing golf.  Most people – even doctors – have an active non-residual income stream.  Network marketers, once they follow the system and get a team up and running, are able to create income weather or not they work, travel, or play golf.  No wonder the best of the best are migrating to this industry.  The country is in the worst recession in 70 years.  Real estate agents are swarming to network marketing.  So are teachers, and lawyers, and athletes, and if you don’t pay attention, you may show up at a team meeting and you might see someone you know in the seats learning about financial freedom.  It may be your cousin, perhaps your neighbor, and don’t be surprised if sitting in the front row, taking copious notes, not skeptical at all but fully open-minded and present, is your doctor.  He is going to get in anyway, he might as well be on your team!

So it is May 2009.  The auto industry is tanking.  Wall Street will never be the same again.  Forget about Real Estate.  The times they are a changin’.  What is the perfect business?  If you can wave a magic wand, would you want a business without overhead?  How about few or no employees?  In an ideal world, would you like to be recession-proof?  How about no commute?  Would it be nice to be in business without accumulating student loans?  What if – now I know we are getting a little crazy here – what if, in this perfect business, you had no income ceiling?  Can you imagine not having a boss, working only with people that you like, making a CEO income, and doing it all in your underwear?  Is it possible that a business like this can actually exist?  But what about the Government?  Don’t worry!!  Big Brother is watching.  But that’s okay.  Remember we are talking about the perfect business!!  What if you actually had tax advantages?  If you fill out a W2 tax form, then the Government takes it’s share, then you pay expenses, then you keep the rest.  In your perfect business, you pay your expenses, pay taxes on what’s left, and then keep the balance.  Big difference!  Welcome to the career of the future!  Behold Compassionate Capitalism!!  Alas – it’s referral marketing.  And it is better then you can possibly imagine.  I hereby declare myself officially unemployable!!!
